With the release of last year’s Final Fantasy XV on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, gamers were clamoring for Square Enix to publish the game on the PC platform as well. This fervent wish has finally been granted and based on the trailer released for the announcement, the results are incredible. Making full use of the PC’s capabilities, true 4K gaming and even a first-person view can be expected.
Announced during the Gamescom 2017 event held in Germany, the game is officially titled “Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition”. In an official Nvidia post, the people behind the development and production of the PC version, including Nvidia GameWorks VP Rev Lebaredian and game director Hajime Tabata explained exactly what people can expect from the title.
“Our goal is to help game developers deliver jaw-dropping gaming experiences by pushing the state of the art in graphics and physics technologies,” Lebaredian said.
As a result, among the expected features of the upcoming version includes revamped HairWorks, improved shadows, and the addition of the Voxel Ambient Occlusion. The company also sent engineers to work closely with Square Enix in order to bring out the full capabilities of the new generation of GPUs, which includes the new GeForce Titan X.
“With the help of NVIDIA, we are creating a stunning visual experience in FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION, one worthy of this beloved franchise,” Tabata said about the cooperation. “NVIDIA pushes the pace of innovation in our industry, and that benefits gamers and developers alike.”
Having had representatives try the PC version out during the presentation, PC Gamer also confirms that the game is indeed a proper version and not just a demo. It’s reportedly a sight to see on actual 4K and the game’s global brand director Akio Ofuji even adds that there will be a first-person mode to help enhance the immersion that players feel.
