In the beginning, players of “Fortnite Battle Royale” could only enter the game with 99 other characters and try to survive or kill as many as they can. Such a chaotic environment hardly fostered creativity in all players. This is why the developers have decided to launch a limited-time event called Playground, which essentially provides players with their own island.
Epic confirmed the new mode via a tweet, noting that the time-limited feature will soon become available. Players who open their accounts right now will see that they will have a new mode to choose from with the upcoming update. It even comes with the tag “Let your creativity run wild on your own private island.”
This feature was announced on May but has been delayed several times. It’s one of the things that “Fortnite” players have been clamoring for since the beginning as well. It can be difficult to get good at the game by practicing when under threat of getting sniped at any time.
With Playground, players will basically be able to take their time and get as creative as they want. More importantly, they can familiarize themselves with the map, the landscape, and the available equipment.
A representative of the company recently posted on Reddit to say that the developers are excited to see what players will do with this mode. This hints at, at least, some of Epic’s tactics in developing new content for players.
“You have no idea how excited we all are to see the amazing things folks do with this mode,” the representative wrote. “We’re going to be paying very close attention and learning as much as we can so please make sure to share your thoughts and experiences as you try it out.”
As of this writing, there has been no word on when exactly Playground will become available. It’s likely, however, that it will be within the week.
