Google is offering yet another round of giveaways to customers who buy a Pixelbook or Samsung Chromebook this December. This time, it involves a free subscription to Netflix, which will allow buyers to binge-watch all of their favorite shows at no cost for six months. Many consider this a step in the right direction as it focuses on what many of the customers are likely going to do with their Chromebooks.
As PC Mag reports, Google is known for enticing customers to buy Chromebooks via lots of freebies and bundles. These often include their other products and services such as more storage space on the buyers’ Google Drive accounts. This time, however, the company seems to have wised up and offered something that most of today’s users are interested in; watching hours upon hours of Netflix originals.
The deal is available until the end of December and applies to both the Google Pixelbook and the Samsung Chromebook Plus or Pro. During that time, buyers can gain access to free Netflix streaming for a full six months.
It’s worth noting that the Netflix plan that will be available to customers by default is the $10.99 a month option. This particular plan includes unlimited streaming on up to two screens simultaneously, but only at high definition.
On the other hand, consumers could also simply take the value of the default offer of $64.94 and choose a different Netflix plan that provides access to more features. Interested buyers can check out Google’s Chromebook site for more details on the deal or redeem the offer if they have already bought the products.
In addition to the free Netflix plan offer, customers who buy the Samsung Chromebook Plus or Pro are also eligible to claim a $20 credit for Google Play. This will allow them to buy apps from the store or pay for subscriptions.
