“Game Of Thrones” is known to include some wildly strange twists, and it seems that for episode 5 of season 6, we are going to see yet another Red Priestess aside from Melisandre (Carice Van Houten). The new crimson-clad holy woman is Ania Bukstein who is playing the character Kinvara. Apparently, where Melisandre sees Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) as Azor Ahai, Kinvara is thinking that it’s actually the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys (Emilia Clark).
Now, considering that Azor Ahai is meant to be a champion of the Lord of Light, the fireproof Daenerys would seem an obvious choice. However, “Game of Thrones” has never been a show that went the course of the obvious and it’s just as likely that both Red Priestesses are wrong.
In any case, it would be interesting to see the contrast between Melisandre and Kinvara, as well as how the latter will play off against Tyrions’ (Peter Dinklage) wit. In a preview video, Kinvara is seen wearing the same red robes as Melisandre as well as the same ruby stone necklace.
In the same video, a lot of other scenes are taking place, including a possible heated confrontation between Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) regarding the terrible marriage that he arranged for her. We also see Bran going full Warg again and it seems this time, he is brought before the Night’s King (Richard Brake), the ruler of the White Walkers himself.
In a recent article by USA Today, Isaac Hempstead Wright who plays Bran talked about what his character is going through this season.
“This destiny had been calling Bran the whole way through and he hadn’t really known what it was,” Wright says in the article. “He had glimpses of his power, but nothing particularly deep and nothing that exposed the audience to what these powers might be able to do.”
Come the next episode, fans might finally know. “Game of Thrones” Season 6, Episode 5 will be on May 22 on HBO.
