“Grey's Anatomy” season 15, with its “Season of Love” theme promised by the show's executives, has been off to a good start, with the recent two-hour special showcasing the cast and crew's dedication to the series.
“Grey's Anatomy” season 15 delivers a fresh return by greeting fans with the show's new cast members. The entry of former “Nashville” actor Chris Carmack and newcomer Alex Landi playing Dr. Atticus Lincoln and Dr. Nico Kim, as well as Kim Raver's Teddy Altman's return as a regular cast member, were a surprise despite the departure of a significant number of the show's cast. With the recent additions to the cast, fans are wondering if there is a possibility that another former regular cast member can make it back to the show in “Grey's Anatomy” season 15.
Fans will remember that Sarah Drew's April Kepner was a fan favourite due to her critically praised character development until her departure in the show's previous installment. While April Kepner is currently missed by fans, series creator Shonda Rhimes has noted that the decision to cut her character from the show was not due to any budgetary constraints but was a purely creative decision. If such is the case, then there is a possibility that Kepner could return due to a creative decision.
TV Line, in a recent interview with “Grey's Anatomy” season 15 showrunner Krista Vernoff, asked Vernoff about the possibility of April Kepner returning to the show. Vernoff does not make commitments about the character's return for “Grey's Anatomy” season 15 but tells the publication the option is not a closed door that should be ignored. Vernoff cites her own career history with the show as an example, with her return to “Grey's Anatomy” after her departure in the show's seventh season.
Fans looking forward to discovering if the show's future has a place to take back another former series regular can catch “Grey's Anatomy” season 15 and its future episodes every Thursday on ABC.
