In case there are still fans who missed the recent announcement, “Haikyuu” Season 4 is officially coming. However, it will not be called that but rather, “Haikyuu – A New Series.” Now, there are a few things about this development that are worth noting, starting with the name of the season. What’s more, there has yet to be a reason given for why it took so long, though, an inference can be made.
So, why exactly is “Haikyuu” Season 4 called “Haikyuu – A New Series” and what does it mean? To start with, it would appear that this naming does not indicate a reboot that many fans feared, TVSeason&Spoilers recently noted. While it is understandable that they would think so, given the direct interpretation of the name, this will not be a form of going back to scratch and retelling the story.
“Haikyuu” Season 4 will still continue the start from where it left off in the previous season and following the events in the manga just as it did in the past. By now, readers would be jumping for joy at the thought of seeing the prints on pages be brought to life after nearly three years of waiting. This is also another reason why many had wondered about the delay of the announcement.
To be clear, the show never fell out in popularity among fans with the anime and the manga both performing quite well in their respective fields. However, since the third season ended, it took until earlier this year for the studio responsible for the project to officially confirm “Haikyuu” Season 4. As to why this was, it was speculated that internal disputes were the cause.
Although it might never be confirmed, there have been rumors about a revolt within the studio over mismanagement. Regardless, “Haikyuu” Season 4 is officially coming and it will arrive on the small screen on September. This should be something worth looking forward to.
