“Hawaii Five-0” season 9 is arriving and it premieres with the appearance of Steve McGarrett’s (Alex O’Loughlin) long-time foe and probably the worst too. The pilot is also the series’s 200th episode so it is a memorable opening.
“Hawaii Five-0” season 9’s first episode is titled “Cocoon” and it is like a déjà vu for it is a remake of the 1968 original pilot. Since the story follows the original and was only tweaked to fit the current period, showrunner Peter Lenkov credited the late Leonard Freeman as co-writer.
As mentioned earlier, Wo Fat, the villain, is back to torture McGarrett, who allows himself to be captured just to uncover who killed his friend. However, he does not expect to be tortured in a tank that makes him lose his consciousness. In any case, according to Entertainment Weekly, Mark Dacascos was signed again to reprise his role.
“Hawaii Five-0” season 9 episode 2 should reveal how McGarrett will survive and if he will successfully find his friend’s killer or killers.
The protagonist will not only be facing one but two enemies in “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 as TV Line reported that the Rochelle Aytes has been added to the cast to make McGarrett’s life more difficult than before. She plays a dangerous CIA operative named Greer.
Meanwhile, “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 features returning cast members Chi McBride (Lou Grover), Jorge Garcia (Jerry Ortega), Shawn Mokuahi Garnett (Shawn Tupuola), Meaghan Rath (Tani Rey), Beulah Koale (Junior Reigns), Shawn Thomsen (Officer Pua Kai) and Kimee Balmilero. “Hawaii Five-0” season 9 premieres on Sept. 28 and episode 2, titled “Ke Kanaka I Ha'ule Mai Ka Lewa Mai,” will follow on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.
