Hyundai Unveils Inster EV at Busan Show; Sub-Compact Car Boasts 355 km Range, Advanced Features

In a recent report by Cointelegraph, Hyundai Motor Company has formally unveiled its sub-compact Inster electric vehicle (EV). The Hyundai Inter will initially be introduced to the South Korean automobile market. Subsequently, it will be accessible in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Hyundai, a South Korean automaker, unveiled the all-electric Inster EV at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. The new A-segment subcompact EV boasts a range of up to 355 km and rapid charging capabilities, as determined by the WLTP standard in Europe.

Hyundai has installed a wireless charging dock, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, and a 10.25-inch digital cluster within the Inster's compartment.

The Hyundai Inster's exterior design is inspired by the gas-powered CASPER, which was exclusively introduced in South Korea. Nevertheless, the Hyundai Inster boasts an extended body and wheelbase, which provide additional interior space. The Inster's size is optimal for city travel and parking, given the regions in which it will be introduced.

With Inster, the small SUV image has taken a bold new place for the global audience,” said Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center. “Inster punches well above its weight with distinctive design and an interior that maximizes its potential in exciting, customer-centric ways. With INSTER, we’re redefining what it means to drive a sub-compact EV.”

Hyundai asserts that the Inster will include most standard equipment and technologies. In the future, the automaker will also provide some improved "design and convenience features." The automaker will disclose the specifications of Inster as it approaches its launch.

Hyundai did not disclose any information regarding Inster variants, except the Inster Cross, which is expected to have a more robust design.

Hyundai Teases All-Electric Inster EV with 355 km Range Ahead of Busan Mobility Show Debut

Hyundai Motor recently hinted at the forthcoming INSTER, an all-electric sub-compact car in the A segment. Hyundai has launched its inaugural teaser images for the INSTER EV.

As per the South Korean company, the Hyundai INSTER EV will be introduced to the global market at the Busan International Mobility Show later this month. The all-electric sub-compact car is anticipated to have a maximum range of 355 km on a single charge, per the WLTP standard of Europe.

Hyundai Motor's teaser images provide minimal information regarding the electric INSTER. They depict the general appearance of the Hyundai EV and offer a view of its LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, and tail lamps.

The name of the new subcompact electric vehicle is derived from the words "innovative" and "intimate."Hyundai suggests that the INSTER EV's design is influenced by the gas-powered CASPER vehicle, which was introduced in 2021 and was exclusively available in South Korea. Hyundai believes the INSTER subcompact EV will establish a new standard for safety features, technology, and driving range.

Hyundai Motor Group, the parent company of Hyundai Motor, is also home to other renowned brands, including Kia and Genesis. When combined, the Hyundai and Kia brands are second in US EV sales to Tesla, a success that can be attributed to the well-designed electric vehicles.
