Hyundai Motor Co. has recalled around 180,000 SUVs in the US due to defective anti-lock brake circuit boards that can cause fires.
South Korea's largest carmaker by sales has been informed of a dozen engine fires caused by the problem.
Hyundai is now telling Tucson owners in the US to park outdoors and recalling the vehicles from 2019 as defective anti-lock brake circuit boards can lead to corrosion that can cause a fire even if engines are off.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
It is the second time this month that Hyundai recalled cars.
Earlier, Hyundai and its affiliated Kia Motors Corps. recall over 600,000 vehicles in the US and Canada to fix a brake fluid leak that could lead to engine fires.
