“Jane the Virgin” Season 5 will be pulling out all the stops as showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman is touting the series’ final installment to be a “pornography of emotion.” During her appearance at the Television Critics Association press tour, Urman revealed that she bawled her eyes out in the editing room trying to tie every loose end of the plot.
“I want to push it. I want to have it all and land these big family moments. I want to say goodbye in the right way and stick the landing. That’s a lot of pressure,” Urman admitted. Apparently, Urman will be using a lot of visual cues in “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 that would result in the storyline going full circle, IndieWire reported.
One such element is using the yellow dress that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) wore when she proposed to Michael (Brett Dier). The dress will act as a callback when Jane was still trying to grapple the events in her life and how she has grown as a character over the five years that the show has aired. Of course, “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 will also be dealing with the love triangle between Jane, Michael, and Rafael (Justin Baldoni), PopSugar reported.
The fourth entry’s finale revealed that Michael has been alive all this time and for some unknown reason, decided to return to the life of his wife. There are a lot of speculations being thrown around by the show’s fan base as to how exactly did Michael survived his supposed death. One promising theory that might make its way in “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 is Michael’s dedication to his profession.
It’s a well-established fact that the Michael is quite obsessed with police work, so much so that it has affected his relationship with Jane in the past. It’s not far-fetch to assume that his desire to close the Sin Rostro case may have a hand at forcing him to fake his death. Whatever the case, “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 is touted to be a satisfying ending for the show when it’s released on the spring of 2019.
