Japanese coffeehouse chain, % Arabica, has announced a strategic partnership with SOHO Middle East to expand its European presence by 2024. According to World Coffee Portal, the expansion includes opening outlets in France, Germany, Portugal, and Greece, aiming to double its global presence from 19 to 39 countries through master franchise agreements. The plan represents % Arabica's ambition to boost its global footprint, with a keen eye on Europe.
Currently, % Arabica operates four stores in Europe, exclusively in the UK. However, they are set to enter the Hungarian, Spanish, and Turkish markets. With a total of 155 outlets worldwide, more than half of which are in China, the coffee chain strives to create exceptional store designs by collaborating with talented architects and interior designers in amazing locations globally.
The company aims to increase its international presence from 19 to 39 countries through master franchise agreements. It also has plans to expand in the Netherlands and explore opportunities in Italy, India, and Myanmar.
In addition, % Arabica has signed a master franchise agreement in Nepal. Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Namche Bazaar are among the locations where outlets will be opened. The company even has plans to set up a kiosk at the famous Everest Base Camp.
% Arabica, on its official Instagram account, expressed its vision of creating stores in remarkable locations worldwide and collaborating with talented architects and interior designers. The brand prides itself on carefully sourcing, storing, roasting, and training its baristas to provide the finest espresso and pour-overs. Currently, the company operates 155 stores in 19 countries, and with the new agreement, that number will expand to 39.
Soho Middle East, founded in Dubai in 2019, boasts a portfolio that includes premium French fashion label IRO Paris as well as clothing brands Amiri and Cotton Citizen, which are based in Los Angeles.
The expansion plans of % Arabica and its partnership with SOHO Middle East demonstrate its commitment to growing its presence in Europe and beyond.
