Heir will host a two-day basketball tournament dubbed NFT Jam featuring 18 high school athletes who will be signed up on name, image, and likeness deals (NIL).
NFT Jam is a two-on-two full-court tournament modeled after the 1990s video game NBA Jam that will allow high school basketball prospects to showcase their skills to a larger audience.
Each game will last three minutes, and the tournament is free to the public.
The tournament's goal is to raise the profile of Heir, a non-fungible token (NFT) venture co-founded by Jeffrey Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, and its athletes, while also educating fans about the benefits of Web 3.0 in a nostalgic setting.
Michael Jordan serves as an advisor to the venture.
All 18 participants will serve as Heir's ambassadors as the company pursues its vision of a blockchain-based social platform that allows individual athletes to earn revenue from their content and connect directly with fans.
According to Jeffrey Jordan, NFT Jam will find new ways to connect fans with their favorite athletes both digitally and in person.
He also stated that NFT Jam will bring the next generation of high school stars to this experience on an annual basis.
