When is Jump Festa 2021 happening?
Thanks to technological advancements, Shueisha able to set the expo within its usual schedule every year even though in-person attendance is still not plausible. Jump Festa 2021 will happen on Dec. 19-20 in an online-only format.
How the Jump Festa 2021 will be held amid COVID-19
Since 2000, the annual Jump Festa has taken place in the Makuhari Messe convention center in Tokyo. As mentioned, major adjustments needed to be done this year so the expo can push through without risking the health and safety of its organizers, guests, and attendees.
It was then recently announced that Jump Festa 2021 will be hosted through a special mobile app called Jump Fes Island that will go live on the dates mentioned above. Through this program, fans will be able to gain access to the different segments of the two-day convention, including the Jump Super Stage, Jump Amusement Tower, and Jump Studio presentations.
Since this is Jump Festa, using the Jump Fes Island will not be a bland experience. The app will reportedly let visitors roam around the virtual venue as characters designed by well-known manga and anime creators. However, since the convention has historically been held in Japan only, it remains to be seen whether the Jump Fes Island will be open to fans in other territories.
