‘Justice League’ revealed brand new concept art and premiered the first look at the costumes of The Flash and Cyborg. Meanwhile, Zack Snyder admitted to changing up the upcoming film’s style to something more fun.
According to The Independent, new concept art for DC’s upcoming superhero team-up film has been released through the deluxe and R-rated DVD edition of Zack Snyder’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. The concept art featured the first look at Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg costumes. The characters were also joined by Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa’s Aquaman.
It was also noted that ‘Justice League’ will be dropping part one and part two from its title. Snyder reiterated on several occasions that the upcoming film will not need to be a two-part series as one film can already stand on its own.
Meanwhile, Snyder admitted that he will be changing up the tone and style for the upcoming film, making it more humorous compared to ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. His March 2016 release received generally negative reviews and was deemed too dark and humorless.
According to Box Office Mojo, the film grossed $872.66 million worldwide against a $250 million production budget. It earned $330.4 million from domestic sales and $542.3 million from foreign markets. Although the film grossed $166 million on its opening weekend in North America, it experienced a marked box office drop its second weekend.
At a recent press event, Snyder mentioned his desire to make ‘Justice League’ different from its predecessor. According to Tech Times, he said, "If it's about putting more fun in the movie, or embracing some of what I would call ... I think it's in all the characters inherently, this larger than life, big, fun stuff, especially when you're dealing with the Justice League… Flash and with Momoa. I don't have a scene with Momoa, but I've been now with Jason and the way he's interacting with the group and it's even just his Jason-ness. It's the contrast to Ben and to Gal, is really interesting and fun."
Affleck, who plays the newest version of the caped crusader in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), admitted that Batman’s humor will also be integrated into the new film. He said, “not like a 'ha ha' jokey, but a bit of his darker humour stuff is present.”
‘Justice League’ is an upcoming action-adventure film based on the DC superhero team of the same name scheduled to premiere in the United States on November 17, 2017. It is produced by Geoff Johns, Dan Lin, George Miller, Doug Mitchell, Barrie M. Osborne, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder. Affleck, Jon Berg, and Wesley Coller are executive producing.
