Fans can count on the continuing mind games-filled love story in “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2, but the arrival of Miko Iino brings something else to the table. Her introduction will certainly shake up the dynamic of the student council in ways that anime-only fans will not expect.

The brief “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2 promo video suggested that Shirogane’s presidency is at risk while a new girl (Miko) threatens it. This practically sums up the way Miko’s introduction in the next episodes as the main contender of Shirogane in the student council president position.
Most manga fans did not like Miko at first because she is the opposite of Shirogane as a student leader. Her personality makes her very strict and ever so serious, which could explain why she keeps losing in student council elections. However, “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2 will hopefully reach the point of the story where anime fans will also fall in love with her character, just like the manga fans eventually felt for the character.
Spoiler alert: Miko will not defeat Shirogane as president in “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2. But she will become the next member of the student council by invitation as their financial auditor. Adding her to the student council will change their dynamic in a good way. But fans should be prepared to see her always criticizing Shirogane for his management skills – she is that uptight.
Her presence in the student council will also have an effect on the relationship between Shirogane and Shinomiya in “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2. While the ultimate confession may not be happening anytime soon, Miko will witness some of the funny, awkward, and adorable moments shared by the two main protagonists.

The announcement of “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War” season 2 did not arrive for a few months since the first season concluded. But it finally happened before 2019 ended. The good news now is that fans will have to wait too long before it premieres as the first episode arrives sometime in April.
