The will-he-won’t-he narrative surrounding Kevin Durant is still hounding the talented forward. And since the 30-year-old has yet to make a decision, sports journalists have turned to his manager, Rich Kleiman, for some clues.
However, Kleiman himself admitted that he too is in the dark what Kevin Durant’s decision is. All he knows is that the two-time NBA Finals MVP is still undecided what path he’s going to take moving forward, WSJ Sports revealed.
This isn’t surprising since Kevin Durant can’t afford to lose focus right now as the Playoffs is nearing its end. And speaking of which, it’s still uncertain whether or not Durant will be playing in the upcoming finals due to his injury, Express reported.
Fortunately, the damage isn’t too bad as it’s been revealed that Kevin Durant only suffered a mild calf strain. Fans of the Dubs were worried that it might’ve been something worse – like an Achilles injury – but those fears have now been alleviated. Kleiman also provided some insight in this regard, saying that the basketball icon is in “good health.”
But he did also say that what Kevin Durant is going through is nothing to scoff at since the only time that the 30-year-old has missed a game was when he’s really feeling the injury. Kleiman ended his statement that he’s hoping to see Durant in the next week or so. Fortunately for KD, the battle between the Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks has yet to be concluded as the series are now tied 2-2 at the moment.
But even if the finals start without Kevin Durant, the Dubs are still the favorite to win this year judging by their performance against the Portland Trailblazers. The Warriors has now reverted back to their original self where ball movement is vital for each of their possessions.
Even without Kevin Durant, the team still manage to sweep the Blazers, with their last game ending on a tension-filled note. Hopefully, KD’s recovery will go swimmingly in the next few weeks as his fans are excited to see another stellar performance from the future Hall-of-Famer.
