The first season of the Netflix original zombie/period drama series “Kingdom” caught a lot of fans of both genres by surprise. A lot of this shock is mostly from how high the quality of the show was, from the writing to the action. As a result, fans simply can’t wait for “Kingdom” Season 2 to come out and there is some good news on that front. Hints about the show’s future have been coming out and production is about to start.
As Korea Portal reports, the actor who plays ruthless minister Cho Hak Jo in the show, Ryu Seung Ryong recently provided hints as to what “Kingdom” Season 2 might be about. He also revealed that the ending of the first season puzzled him just as it did with many other fans. After all, at only six episodes, it wasn’t exactly the typical period drama or zombie series that fans are used to.
In any case, the actor recently said that he was already privy to the script of “Kingdom” Season 2. In a recent interview, he hinted that the pace of the story will be moving quite quickly. There will also be some minor characters that will supposedly have a bigger role to play in the second season of the show. There were no specific details as to who these will be.
"The story also develops very quickly, and I read all the way through the script for Episode 4 in a flash. Characters other than the main cast seen in Season 1 will likely play a bigger role in Season 2," the actor said.
Production for “Kingdom” Season 2 is expected to begin soon. This means that if there are no interruptions, the second season of this wonderful series will likely premiere in early 2020. Adding more episodes could push the timeline back a bit, but this can only be good news since it would mean more content to consume.
