Krispy Kreme is offering a spookily good deal for Friday the 13th. On Friday, Sept. 13, customers who purchase a full-priced dozen doughnuts or a 16-pack of minis can add a dozen original glazed doughnuts for just 13 cents. According to People, to take advantage of this buy-one-get-one promotion, customers must use the promo code “13” when placing orders in-store, through the app, or on the website. However, the deal is limited to one 13-cent dozen per customer.
Recently, Krispy Kreme also introduced the Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection, celebrating the iconic doll's 65th anniversary. Since Sept. 3, Barbie fans have enjoyed four special pink-themed doughnuts: Barbie Pink, Malibu Dream Party, Barbie Berries 'n Kreme, and Barbie Sweet 65th, each paying homage to the beloved brand.
The Barbie Pink doughnut features an original glazed base, pink buttercream piping, sugar sprinkles, and classic Barbie sunglasses. The Malibu Dream Party doughnut, inspired by the Barbie DreamHouse, includes cake batter-flavored cream filling and decorations resembling a DreamHouse scene. The Barbie Berries 'n Kreme doughnut offers strawberry cream filling with colorful buttercream stripes and a heart-shaped emblem showcasing the iconic Barbie “B.” Lastly, the Barbie Sweet 65th doughnut boasts chocolate icing and sprinkles in Barbie's signature colors.
McDonald's Introduces New Sustainable McFlurry Packaging and Mini Size Nationwide Starting Sept. 10
Meanwhile, McDonald's McFlurry has transformed. Starting Sept. 10, the fast-food chain will roll out a new "four-flap" cup, replacing the McFlurry's plastic lid, as part of its sustainability efforts. Additionally, McDonald’s will introduce a new Mini McFlurry size, offering customers a smaller option for a quick treat.
According to a statement from McDonald’s, the Mini McFlurry will be available nationwide and through the McDonald’s App and McDelivery starting Sept. 10. McDonald's also hinted that the new packaging for the Mini McFlurry would align with the chain’s environmental goals.
In October 2023, McDonald's phased out the McFlurry's old spoon design. Many customers were confused by its hollow shape, which was often mistaken for a straw. The new, smaller black spoon uses less plastic, a change aimed at reducing single-use plastic waste.
McDonald's continues to innovate with its McFlurry flavors. In July 2023, it introduced a limited-edition Kit Kat banana split McFlurry featuring vanilla soft serve, banana bits, strawberry clusters, and Kit Kat pieces. Before that, the Grandma McFlurry, rolled out in May 2023, was described as “sweet — just like grandma,” featuring syrup, crunchy candy pieces, and vanilla soft serve. Other recent flavors include the Strawberry Shortcake McFlurry and the Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry, released in 2023.
