The Arizona Cardinals have now acquired Kyler Murray into their roster, transitioning to reality all the predictions that have made been about the 21-year-old months prior. With the reigning Heisman Trophy winner now with the Cardinals, it’s expected that Josh Rosen will be traded to other teams moving forward, NBC reported.
Among those that are supposedly interested in acquiring the quarterback is the New England Patriots. The Pats currently doesn’t have someone who can potentially replace Tom Brady, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the team goes after Rosen. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray is speculated to perform well with the Cardinals under the supervision of new head coach Kliff Kingsbury.
Kingsbury is considered to be one of the greatest offensive minds in the NFL, known for taking advantage of the speed of quarterbacks. And since Kyler Murray has been deemed too small to play the position, the duo’s chemistry could prove a winning formula for the Cardinals.
Of course, this is mere speculations at this point and we’ll have to see how the newcomer fares on the field. And here’s where everything gets risky. While Kyler Murray has proven that he has the athleticism and passing skills to play quarterback, he needs to perform well for the Cardinals, otherwise, the team’s decision might affect the franchise in the long run.
Rosen’s poor performance last season is still the subject within the NFL and if Kyler Murray doesn’t deliver this year, a lot of heads will roll. General manager Steve Keim and Kingsbury will probably get the pink slip should this acquisition fall flat, ESPN reported.
But again, this is all speculation. For all we know, Kingsbury and Kyler Murray could prove to be a deadly duo on the field. Kingsbury has a penchant for the Air Raid offense. And since Murray played a version of it while in Oklahoma, some of the groundwork may already have been laid out. Hopefully, the 21-year-old proved to be the star that everyone
