LG Uplus Corp and Japan's largest mobile carrier KDDI will collaborate on finding new 5G business applications and in preparing for future 6G networks.
Under a memorandum of understanding, the two firms aim to share their 5G network technology and solutions and find more applications of the latest generation network.
The South Korean telecom operator has intensified efforts to develop high-speed and low-latency network services, such as remotely operating yard cranes at container terminals.
The two mobile carriers will also jointly develop and aim to establish international standards for 6G technology.
LG Uplus Corp and KDDI have collaborated in acquiring telecommunications equipment, extended reality technology, and smart drones since 2015.
