It’s official. The LG V40 ThinQ is going to be packing five cameras – three cameras on the rear and two on front.
LG has officially unveiled the first images of their upcoming flagship smartphone in a teaser video on Thursday, and it turns out the rumors were true. The camera specs were not revealed, but recent reports have indicated that three rear cameras will include a 12-megapixel f/1.5 lens with 1.4-micron pixels, a 16MP f/1.9 wide-angle lens with 1-micron pixels, and a 12MP f/2.4 2x optical zoom lens with 1-micron pixels. The LG V40 ThinQ’s selfie cameras will reportedly be 8MP and 5MP.
Aside from the triple-camera setup, the teaser also shows that the LG V40 ThinQ will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The South Korean electronics company confirmed that the LG V40 ThinQ would have a 6.4-inch display, although the resolution and aspect ratio are unknown at the moment. The smartphone will have the same width as the LF V30 and the reinforced glass on the back is said to have been sandblasted to keep it free from fingerprints, scratches, and dirt.
The LG V40 ThinQ also has a metal side frame, and it will be available in Carmine Red, Moroccan Blue, and Platinum Grey. Furthermore, the LG V40 ThinQ is expected to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, a Hi-Fi Quad DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter), and a button on the side for Google Assistant.
Meanwhile, GSMArena.com has reported that the LG V40 ThinQ will run on Android 8.1 Oreo instead of 9.0 Pie, the latest Android OS. However, there should be an update at some point in the future.
For now, readers are advised to take the specification rumors with a grain of salt until LG makes their official announcement. Consumers will get to know more about the LG V40 ThinQ at the launch event on Oct. 3.
