Lee Min Ho is finally making his comeback this year, and fans will see him again via SBS’s “The King: Eternal Monarch.” The teasers keep coming and this is really making everyone anticipate the actor’s new drama.
“The King: Eternal Monarch” will also be Min Ho’s reunion project with Kim Eun Sook with who he worked with in “The Heirs.” It was one of the most successful Korean teen dramas and they are hoping that the huge success will be replicated in their new team-up. She is one of the greatest screenwriters today and the 32-year-old actor is one of the most in-demand stars so there is no question that this upcoming drama is going to be a hit as well.
Spoilers - What to expect
Lee Min Ho’s new project is a fantasy drama about two parallel universes. It is unique because it is sort of time-traveling too since the two worlds involved are the past and modern-day South Korea.
The actor is ruling in the old Korean empire monarch but he entered a portal that brought him to the present time because it is the only way he could get help from the modern-day people. He wants help with sealing the portal that connects their worlds before the evil forces take advantage and cause trouble that will endanger people. Emperor Lee Gon played by Lee Min Ho ended up finding Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun), a detective, and they were forced to work together.
In the latest preview that was released on April 4, Min Ho looks like a real king in his royal outfit. The teaser showed him in a bamboo forest and crossing a portal with his white horse. A voice-over could be heard saying, “God let evil loose in the human world, and that evil opened the door to a parallel world,” as he gallops his way to the present day.
Cast lineup and release date
Aside from Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun, Woo Do Hwan, Kim Kyung Nam, Jung Eun Chae and Lee Jung Jin are also appearing in “The King: The Eternal Monarch.” The preview videos and posters already revealed their looks in the drama and fans are praising everyone for their convincing looks and great portrayal of roles assigned to them. Finally, “The King: Eternal Monarch” is almost here! It will be out on April 17 at 10 p.m. KST on SBS Channel.
