Lindsay Lohan is aiming to come back, at least on the small screen, according to USA Today. The “Mean Girls” actress is reportedly involved in a new reality series currently being shopped around to networks. “The Anti-Social Network” will be a “Punk’d”-liked show that will have Lohan challenge contestants in dares via their own social media accounts for prizes.
In a promo for the show, Lohan explains, “I love social media. I am social media. Everybody knows you should never leave your phone lying around, especially near me. So, I’ve decided I’m going to hijack your social media — your Instagram, your Snapchat, your Facebook, your Twitter, all of it — for 24 hours. If you can pull off three challenges, you’ll win some fabulous prizes.”
FOX News said should the show be picked up, it will be Lohan’s first TV project since “Lindsay,” a docuseries which premiered in Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network back in 2014. On the other hand, it would be a perfect vehicle for the 30 year-old, who is an avid Instagram and Twitter user, and has gained a laudable 15 million plus combined followers. CNN also said the actress also experienced getting pranked by Ashton Kutcher in a 2003 “Punk’d” episode. In the episode, Lohan’s limo driver pretended that the limo was stolen, while his wife was simultaneously having their first child.
Apart from the TV project, Lohan has also called out the producers of the live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid” if they could tap her for the titular role, Entertainment Weekly said. In a since-deleted caption of an Instagram post, she referred to Oscar-winning screenwriter and director Bill Condon, “I will sing again, as #ariel #thelittlemermaid [if] @Disney approve that #billcondon directs it.”
