One of the most awaited series to premiere on Netflix is “Lost in Space” season 2. The streaming services company has been mum about the continuation of the Robinsons’ adventure in outer space. But there are details suggesting that the show could return either in October or November this year.
Fans can take clues from the cast members’ social media posts and season 1 production details to speculate on the premiere date of “Lost in Space” season 2. Maxwell Jenkins, who plays Will Robinson, confirmed in early February that they have wrapped up filming. This presumably means the series has since entered the post-production phase.
Meanwhile, That Hashtag Show recalled that there were around nine months of gap between the time season 1’s filming concluded and when it premiered on Netflix. If that same period will be applied for “Lost in Space” season 2, that puts the possible release date somewhere between October and November. Note, though, that this is still mere speculation despite being based on season 1-related facts.
Netflix and the show’s producers have also been keeping plot details away from the viewers. But the filming details also give fans some inkling on what to expect from “Lost in Space” season 2. The same Instagram post from Jenkins confirmed that they went through three major filming locations — Iceland, Alberta, and their “home base of Vancouver” — in a span of six months.
The new filming locations should not surprise fans since the Robinsons are still lost and are going to land to a completely new planet once “Lost in Space” season 2 begins. But the episode “Danger, Will Robinson” seemingly left a clue that the lost family is being taken to the home planet of Will’s best friend robot.
Based on the anticipated plot, it would most likely feel like the Robinsons would be back from the beginning in “Lost in Space” season 2. Aside from the new planet, they will have to deal with new characters as well. And whether or not they will find their way back to the Resolute is, once again, a mystery.
