“Lost in Space” season 2 is highly anticipated to introduce an all-new planet that the Robinsons will have to explore, learn from, and endure. More importantly, the new planet is possibly the home of the Robot (Brian Steele) and it poses “danger” to the lost family of space colonists.
Within the last five minutes of the first season, the Robinsons went from being hopeful to be reunited with the Resolute to being thrown away to a foreign planet. The characters on board the Jupiter 2 were approaching a planet (or a galaxy) shaped like the number 8. Everyone but Will (Maxwell Jenkins) was clueless about their new temporary home in “Lost in Space” season 2.
The youngest Robinson immediately made the connection that they are approaching a planet that greatly resembles the sand drawings of the Robot before saying Danger.” That could either mean Danger is the planet’s name or the Robot remembers nothing but danger when thinking about his home planet. Either way, “Lost in Space” season 2 is not looking good for the Robinsons.
Even before landing in the new foreign planet, the Robinsons already have a couple of enemies on board the Jupiter 2 with them. Dr. Smith (Parker Posey) is with the family in “Lost in Space” season 2. It is also still unknown what the alien engine’s reason for throwing the Jupiter 2 to the Robot’s home planet.
On the other hand, the role of Robot in “Lost in Space” season 2 is still under wraps. The final season 1 episode showed it getting destroyed after saving Will from an evil, alien robot. But reports note that the Robot was damaged once and returned.
It would also make more sense to see the Robot back in “Lost in Space” season 2. After all, the main destination in the next installment is his supposed home planet.
The filming of “Lost in Space” season 2 has purportedly wrapped up last month. But the announcement of a release date will most likely take a few more months. There are varying speculations about the second season’s premiere as some believe it might happen later this year while others say it could be pushed back to early 2020.
