Mark Harmon is going to be involved in CBS’ new show as the actor is reportedly going to be an executive producer for the upcoming adaptation of John Sandford’s “Prey” novels. The first book of the series titled “Rules of Prey” was initially released in 1989 and 28 more followed in the coming years.
This provides the upcoming show with a lot of materials to work on. The books themselves have been warmly received by the market, with the last ten earning the coveted number spot on the New York Times best-seller list. Now that Mark Harmon has been included as among those who will spearhead the series, fans of “NCIS” are asking if the actor is leaving the show, TVInsider reported.
Fortunately, Mark Harmon will not be doing no such thing as he’ll still going to lead “NCIS” even with his involvement with the “Prey” adaptation will take some of his time. David McCallum is also rumored to be leaving after his character said he wants to “see some of the world.” However, there’s no confirmation about this development and McCallum is still involved with “NCIS” at the moment. The latest episode of the crime-solving drama got the NCIS crew involved in a string of friendly fire incidents that’s been happening overseas.
Meanwhile, the ninth episode of “NCIS” Season 16 will have Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the rest of his team follow the lead suspect of a high-profile robbery case. So far, showrunners are keeping everything under wrap and fans will have to tune in on Dec. 4 to find out how this story will conclude.
As for the others involved in producing “Prey,” Ed Decter, Howard Braunstein, and Michael Jaffe will be joining Mark Harmon in creating this TV adaptation. Apart from this, however, nothing is known about the upcoming show.
“Rules of Prey” follows the thrilling and dangerous life of Lucas Davenport, a Minneapolis detective who’s hunting down a brilliant and elusive serial killer. Working alongside Davenport is Elle Krueger, a psychology professor, criminal profiler, and a nun. Together, the pair teamed up to face Louis Vullion, an attorney who delights in “collecting” female victims. Mark Harmon and the rest of the production crew certainly have their work cut out for them as the fan base of the “Prey” series are expecting a lot from this adaptation.
