Mark Harmon has been constantly reported to be leaving “NCIS” season 16 due to his failing health. The actor is also said to have decided to quit from the show in order to accommodate a new job offer to be the executive producer of the upcoming drama that will be based on John Sanford’s the “Prey” detective series novels.
According to Celebrity Insider, the 67-year-old “NCIS” actor is not in good condition since his health issues have resurfaced. His condition could worsen any time thus he has to give up his acting work in the CBS’ longest-running police procedural drama.
Now, with the endless rumors that have been circulating for a while now, Mark Harmon wants to put an end to them now so he finally broke his silence to clear up everything. On Dec. 20, Page Six revealed that the actor’s representative informed them that the reports about his departure from “NCIS” were false.
Mark Harmon is not leaving the show and he has no plans of quitting soon. Despite his extra works, serving as executive producers to several shows including “NCIS: New Orleans,” he can still manage everything.
Mark Harmon has been playing Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the “NCIS” series since 2003. This means that from day one, he has been a fixed cast member so it will not be easy for him to give up the show.
Moreover, this is not the first time that he was rumored to be leaving the show however, this is the first time that Mark Harmon addressed the rumors. Now, that this has been cleared, fans will now stop worrying about Gibbs leaving his post in the drama.
