McDonald’s Releases French Fry Perfume That Smells Like Fries in Japan

McDonald's introduces unique McFries fragrances that smells like fries and seasonings.

McDonald’s revealed via social media that it will release a new perfume that smells like french fries. The burger joint said it will be available for a limited time in Japan.

Fragrance Options to Choose From

McDonald’s shared that its new line of McFries-inspired perfumes will be offered in three scents: garlic pepper mayo, plum nori seaweed salt, and regular salted french fries. According to Siliconera, while the fast-food chain has already announced the upcoming launch of the perfume, it has not stated the exact release date.

McDonald’s did not provide details about the prices of the perfumes. However, the restaurant said the fragrances will come in packaging featuring various shapes and designs.

The McFries scent will be presented in the shape of the McDonald’s french fries side dish in red and yellow package. On the other hand, the rest of the fragrances will copy the design of the Shaka Shaka Potatoes, which are exclusive to McDonald’s Japan.

A Trendsetter in Japan

Finally, it is not certain if McDonald’s will introduce the new perfumes to other countries like the United States. This unique item may be odd in other regions, but these types of products are common in Japan. In fact, McDonald’s Japan regularly releases products like these, making it a trendsetter, especially with its Happy Meal toys.

Neatorama further reported that McDonald’s Japan is well-known for releasing items through all kinds of brand partnerships. Before the French fries perfumes, its most recent collaboration includes the Kirby and Pompompurin Happy Meal toys and the “Spy x Family” Happy Meal set. As usual, the items sold out early, so the upcoming McFries fragrances are already expected to become another hit.
