Saint Marc Cafe, a beloved Japanese bakery chain, has unveiled its latest sensation—the Drinkable ChocoCro. Topped with a miniature croissant, this limited-edition chocolate smoothie is captivating customers as part of the cafe's 25th-anniversary celebrations.
Saint Marc Cafe Marks 25 Years with New Treats, Including the Buzz-Worthy Drinkable ChocoCro
Regarding cafes in Japan, the options are plentiful, yet Saint Marc Cafe remains unbeatable for many locals. This home-grown chain, which launched its first location in Tokyo in 1999, is known as a “bakery cafe,” focusing equally on its baked goods and beverages.
This year, Saint Marc Cafe is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a selection of limited-edition menu items that have captivated its fan base. Leading the new offerings is the “Ultimate ChocoCro,” a more indulgent version of the cafe’s most beloved item, the ChocoCro—a chocolate croissant. The Ultimate ChocoCro boasts double the chocolate and ten times the butter of the original.
Alongside the Ultimate ChocoCro is the ChocoCro Parfait, yet the item generating even more buzz is the Drinkable ChocoCro Chocolate Smoothie. The promotional poster for this new beverage features something so unexpected that many might assume it's been digitally altered, but it’s real—a miniature croissant floating in the drink.
Mini ChocoCro Tops Saint Marc Cafe’s Chocolate Smoothie, Offering a Unique Indulgent Experience
The Drinkable ChocoCro costs 690 yen (US$4.81) with soft-serve ice cream or 640 yen without. The tiny croissant atop the drink gives the appearance of a larger-than-usual serving, but upon closer inspection, this miniature measures only four centimeters across, a third of the size of a regular ChocoCro.
The croissant's interior makes this even more remarkable—it’s a miniature version of the ChocoCro, complete with a rich chocolate filling. Each one is hand-kneaded by Saint Marc’s skilled bakers, exemplifying the craftsmanship that has made the chain a favorite across Japan. The croissant is a delightful treat, offering a satisfying crunch with just the right amount of chocolate, per SoraNews24.
The miniature ChocoCro provides a perfect introduction to the drink, which blends milk with ChocoCro chocolate. Despite its rich flavor, the chocolate smoothie is surprisingly easy to enjoy, and it’s tempting to indulge in more than one before the item leaves the menu on 26 September. Meanwhile, the ChocoCro Parfait will remain available until 31 October, offering more time to savor Saint Marc Cafe’s celebratory treats.
