“Money Heist” proved that even non-English language shows could also be popular around the world. When the drama was first introduced in Spain under the “La Casa de Papel” title, its viewers were limited to the Spanish-speaking countries, but when Netflix bought the rights to stream it in 2017, the series saw an amazing success that they did not think possible at first.
With Netflix’s millions of subscribers worldwide, it helped propel the Spanish crime drama to high popularity. In fact, it has been renewed for its fourth season, which is real evidence that “Money Heist” is a hit. The drama’s original creator is Álex Pina, and while he already sold it to the leading streaming provider today, he remained as one of the show’s execs.
Season 5 renewal
Now, there is good news for fans. While “Money Heist” season 4 has yet to premiere, Film Daily reported that Netflix ordered the fifth installment already. Yes, it was renewed for season 5, and most likely, the sixth season is also on the way.
Based on the report, the news about “Money Heist” season 5 renewal had surfaced when La Vanguardia, a Spanish paper, published a story about it. Many other media outlets picked up the story, and it made its way online as well.
