“NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 has been confirmed to have started the process of filming, with one of the cast members tweeting the announcement. The “NCIS” spinoff may just have had the most hilarious start-of-filming announcement in its history.
Rob Kerkovich, the actor who portrays Forensic Agent Sebastian Lund, seems to be as quirky and humorous as the character he plays on “NCIS: New Orleans” as he posted on his personal Twitter account a photo of his hair trimmings with the announcement of the start of filming.
A toupee’s worth of my hair in a dustpan can only mean one thing... Season 5 of #ncisnola has started filming! pic.twitter.com/Or1XQqjSJw

While clearly an unconventional way of letting fans know that filming has started for the show's fifth season, Kerkovich also teased fans about how exciting and integral the first two episodes of “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 will be to the show.
Important news. Also important: I’ve read the first two episodes of the season and they’re ????????????#ncisnola https://t.co/LqU2fhd7Fc

The teaser tweet from Kerkovich retweets the CBS confirmation of the NCIS spin-off series's premiere date through the show's official Twitter account.
It seems “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 will premiere with two other crime procedurals on Sept. 25, namely the spin-off's main series “NCIS” season 16, and Dick Wolf's new show “FBI,” which will be debuting on the date. While it may be sharing air time with its older sibling of a show, the much younger “NCIS: New Orleans” season 5 may have more chances to shine should season 16 be the original show's last season considering the many changes it has gone through.
Amidst the good news of the show's continuation, there is much to speculate on about the show's direction in season 5. From Dwayne Pride, portrayed by Scott Bakula, being forced to gather an ad hoc team to take down Barlow (Doug Savant), and the race against time to ferret out terrorists during the New Orleans Tricentennial Fleet Week celebrations.
Season 5 coming in may also bring more answers to NCIS Special Agent La Salle's (Lucas Black) family business problems, which rudely wormed they way into the plot during the team's challenging anti-terror efforts in the season finale.
