The mid-July short interest represents 5.14 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.91 days for the prior reporting period.
Short interest in 827 securities on The Nasdaq Capital MarketSM totaled 900,156,200 shares at the end of the settlement date of July 14, 2017 compared with 896,823,667 shares in 830 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 3.60 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period’s figure of 1.48
In summary, short interest in all 3,154 Nasdaq® securities totaled 8,181,952,948 shares at the July 14, 2017 settlement date, compared with 3,157 issues and 8,502,778,760 shares at the end of the previous reporting period. This is 4.91 days average daily volume, compared with an average of 3.33 days for the previous reporting period.
