Naver Corp. accumulated over 45 million views and 400,000 purchases at its live-streaming shopping platform Shopping Live since it was launched on July 30.
While Naver's stellar performance was helped by the pandemic forcing more people to stay at home and do their shopping online, the company also attributed it to the unique products that they made available, such as handmade chocolate and baby meals.
Naver also aims to educate small business owners about online shopping to enable them to expand business through Shopping Live.
Last month, Naver announced it will invest 180 billion won over the next two years in supporting small business owners and creators.
Under the said project, Naver will develop a new data-based platform dubbed Brand Connect that directly connects creators with brands.
The platform will show the creative works and activities of content creators. It is set for launch in the first half of next year.
