Netflix and Dexter Studios joined hands to work for post-production requirements such as sound and visual effects. It was reported that Dexter Studios, a leading post-production company in South Korea, and its subsidiary, Livetone, inked a 2-year deal recently.
With the agreement, Netflix Inc. will now officially work with the South Korean studio, and their projects will range from films to digital images and contents. Dexter Studios is known to create vivid and immersive film products, and this is what the leading American streaming firm is looking for.
The partnership details
As per The Korea Economic Daily, the partnership deal between Netflix and Dexter Studios will take effect starting July 5. From this date, the studio, along with its subsidiary, Livetone, will team up with the streaming giant for the post-production of the company’s Korean content.
The post-production jobs will include dubbing, adding music and sound effects, plus color finishing. Dexter is known for its visual effect technologies, while Livestone is specializing in design and mixing. So together, they are expected to yield amazing finished content.
Some of the recent films that Dexter and Livetone had worked on include Song Joong Ki’s “Space Sweepers” movie and the zombie drama series “Kingdom.” Both projects showed excellent backdrops and sounds.
Netflix and Dexter Studios declined to reveal the value of the contract they signed for the deal. They did not share how many projects they intend to work on as well.
Netflix Korea ready to work with Dexter Studios and Livetone
Finally, Korea Joongang Daily reported that Netflix is aiming to expand its partnership with Dexter Studios after their initial contract. This is because the company is expecting to have more content in the future that will need to be edited for effects, designs, and corrections.
“We want to thank all our incredible creative and post-production partners in Korea for their support over the years,” Netflix Korea’s director of post-production, Ha Jung Su, said in a statement that was posted on the company’s website. “We are very excited to continue this journey with Korea’s creative ecosystem so more Korean shows on Netflix can be discovered and loved everywhere.”
