The Dark Souls franchise is one of the most revolutionary properties in the video game industry at the moment. Now, players can go through the magic of the first Dark Souls again and this time, they only need to fight boss battles. This is possible via a new mod that allows for boss rush where instead of having to deal with the countless skeletons and undead, gamers can go ahead and get slaughtered only by giant wolves and humungous knights.
Dark Souls is the hit follow-up to the rough gem, Demon Souls. Created by From Software, it became the favorite of many gamers who absolutely loved the unforgiving and often frustrating game mechanics where death is practically inevitable. The game was also home to some of the most memorable boss fights, which is why somebody decided to create a mod that allows players to rush them.
Now, it’s worth noting that the mod is still in its early stages and there are still a few kinks in the system as well as some missing fights. For example, the Bed of Chaos fight is unavailable at the time of writing.
In any case, most other bosses are already accessible to players, which include Sif, the Great Grey Wolf, the Iron Golem, and Knight Artorias. Without having to deal with the tedious battles against the mobs, which can sometimes be even more dangerous than the bosses themselves, those who played Dark Souls before can enjoy the game’s most memorable moments as they want.
Different players will most likely have different favorites in terms of the boss battles themselves. There are those who find the fight against Ornstein and Smough unforgettable, for example, Comicbook reports. This pair is often considered the most difficult and exciting offerings from the game. Heck, it can even become a raid battle for those who need a little backup.
