Neymar is currently on a mission to prove his detractors wrong. Throughout the summer, the Brazilian superstar has made it clear that he wants to return to Barcelona and tried forcing his way out of PSG.
PSG, however, wanted a hefty price for Neymar, which was only fair since the club paid a heavy sum to get him on their roster. But Barcelona didn’t have the financial clout to meet the cash demand and offered several key players in exchange.
The back and forth created a lot of headlines on the web with both PSG and Barca fans hating Neymar for all the ruckus he has created. That hate still clings to the Brazilian today but is slowly melting away due to his recent performance.
Neymar blazing a new path for PSG
Just last week, Neymar scored an acrobatic goal that got PSG winning against Strasbourg. The 27-year-old gave Lyon the same treatment this week after breaking the deadlock late into the match two days ago. Part of the reason why the brilliant forward is performing spectacularly is his newfound mental focus. Or at least, he’s trying to reach that destination.
Neymar recently sat down with the Mirror’s Hannah Britt and spoke about his mental health and what he’s currently doing to manage the stress and pressure that sits on the shoulders of a superstar like him. He said that he’s trying to open up more in an attempt to unload some of the burden that’s he’s been carrying personally.
Neymar reveals how he deals with all the negativity
“Sometimes it's hard because you always have to be perfect and as a human being it is impossible. I messed up several times and recovering all the confidence I had has a high price, but I think it's normal for human beings to fail, it's part of life and due to these errors you grow and learn,” Neymar said.
He added that if when one is in a great place mentally, you tend to do all the right things. With Neymar’s recent performance, the Brazilian may have found a way to zone out all the outside noise and focus on his craft. And that’s all thanks to the support that his friends and family are giving him; providing him the outlet he needs to vent out all the negativity thrown his way. Music and his faith are also factors that contributed to his calmness as well, revealing that he will listen to songs and say a little prayer before stepping out on the pitch.
