Nicole Kidman was recently rumored to be worrying about his son Connor Cruise’s involvement with Tom Cruise’s religion, the Church of Scientology. But the report was immediately dismissed.
It can be recalled that last month, Cruise’s son reportedly moved into The Sandcastle in Clearwater, Florida, where Kidman’s ex-husband also owns a penthouse unit. The luxury complex is owned by the Church of Scientology since 1979 “to provide parishioners on religious services with a retreat convenient to Flag’s Advanced Organization,” according to their website.
Previous reports labeled Cruise’s son’s decision to live in The Sandcastle as a major move that shows his deeper affiliation to the Church of Scientology. Recently, tabloids claimed that it worried Kidman and allegedly prompted her to make last-minute attempts to convince her son to leave the religion.
Gossip Cop called out a report from OK! that also claimed Nicole Kidman is worried her 23-year-old son with Cruise would become the next poster boy for the Church of Scientology. Up to today, Tom Cruise is the most famous person affiliated with the religion.
During their marriage from 1990 to 2001, Kidman and Cruise shared the same faith. But the “Big Little Lies” star left the Church of Scientology following their divorce while their adopted children both chose to stay with their father.
Today, Kidman is purportedly hoping that she can also convince her son with Cruise to leave their church. The same OK! report also claimed that Kidman called on a friend for help and what “she wants is some face time with her baby boy for one last chance to plead with him to leave the church and live a better life.”
However, Nicole Kidman’s representative talked to Gossip Cop and debunked these claims. Hollywood Life also quoted an insider explaining why Kidman is not likely to convince her son to leave Tom Cruise’s faith. “Even if Nicole wanted to put pressure on Connor to leave Scientology she’s very aware that it would only backfire and damage her relationship with him so she’s very careful not to do anything that could jeopardize things with him.” Hollywood Life’s source explained.
