The latest official updates on the making of “Now You See Me 3” remain scarce, but the possibilities for the next plot are practically endless. The constant factor, of course, are the Four Horsemen composed of Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco), and Lula May (Lizzy Caplan) along with their leader Dylan Rhodes Shrike (Mark Ruffalo).
‘Now You See Me 3’ plot predictions: Four Horsemen might need to save the Eye next
While the second movie offered a sufficient conclusion on its own plot that still involved Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine), it ended by also opening a new story that could be tackled in “Now You See Me 3.” Dylan and the Four Horsemen finally met the official members of the Eye that surprisingly included Thaddeus Bradley (Morgan Freeman).
The Eye has also been one of the constant factors in the movie series since the beginning, although the first movie only made few references to it. The elite group of magicians and illusionists also took part in the second half of the 2016 sequel but was not much central in the stories of both installments. This leads to the possibility that the legacy of the Eye could be the one that needs saving in “Now You See Me 3.”
It is not far-fetched to assume that the Eye would still be part of “Now You See Me 3,” since the second movie made it clear that they have been watching the Four Horsemen from the beginning. And since it appears that the Four Horsemen are some of the most popular and exposed members of the group, the third movie could further explore how their dynamic is going to be. What better way to tackle that by putting one of them in grave danger posing a challenge that would make a good story for the third film.
‘Now You See Me 3’ release date, production updates: Is the movie still in the making?
The ultimate downside now is it has been years since fans last heard an official update on “Now You See Me 3.” Lionsgate confirmed it has started planning for the movie in 2015, and another report in late 2016 came out claiming the production company signed new writers to pen the movie’s script. But 2020 has already started, and the total silence from Lionsgate and the cast continues.
