Players looking forward to the release of “The Crew 2” and using Nvidia graphics cards are all set for the upcoming title after the GPU company released the Game Ready Driver v398.36 update on Tuesday.
While the official launch of “The Crew 2” is on June 29, players who purchased the game’s Gold Edition can access the game starting Tuesday. And, with that, Nvidia released the GeForce Game Ready driver v398.36 on the same day.
As the driver’s name suggests, Game Ready updates for Nvidia cards are focused on providing “the best possible gaming experience” especially when a major title release is in order — which is the case for “The Crew 2.”
“The Crew 2” is Ubisoft’s open-world video game that simulates motorsports action. But, unlike other titles under the same genre, “The Crew 2” gameplay lets players race using a wide array of vehicles like a car, truck, motorcycle, boat, stunt plane, and even a buggy.
In the Game Ready driver v398.36 changelog, it was made obvious that the driver update was specifically built to adjust the GPU performance to achieve the best possible gaming experience for “The Crew 2” players. But it is also important to note that driver v398.36 is also packed with patches aimed at other titles.
The release notes also indicate that Nvidia has updated the Scalable Link Interface (SLI) Profiles for other games including “Dark Souls Remastered,” “Hand of Fate 2,” “Need for Speed Payback,” and “Super Mega Baseball 2.” SLI is Nvidia’s technology that supports multi-GPU operation to render video games with demanding frame rates.
Nvidia’s latest Game Ready driver update also addressed several issues, including the blue-screen bug experienced by “Gears of War 4” players that are using Pascal-based GPUs.
All Game Ready driver updates are free, including v398.36. Note that it is compatible with Windows 10 PCs running on a 64-bit process and requires a 493.09 MB free storage space.
