Oprah Winfrey is reportedly furious at Ellen DeGeneres for scoring an interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they quit the royal family.
According to Woman’s Day, Winfrey, who has been friends with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, thought she was a shoo-in to do the interview following the royal couple’s bombshell exit.
However, DeGeneres already confirmed that she has been tapped to interview the royal couple, but the date when it will be released has yet to be announced.
According to Gossip Cop, DeGeneres never said that Prince Harry and Markle will appear on her talk show. The host has not confirmed an interview with the royal couple either regardless of where it will be aired.
As such, there’s absolutely no reason for Winfrey to be furious at DeGeneres. When the time comes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will agree to an interview, it is possible that it will be with Winfrey.
As of late, DeGeneres hasn’t said anything about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombshell exit. But Winfrey has expressed her support for the royal couple.
“When a person has sat and thought about, ‘What is the best decision to make for my family?’ and then he makes that decision, none of us have any right to say anything about that,” she said.
This comment suggests that Winfrey is much closer to Prince Harry and Markle. And she may be a more viable choice to interview the couple.
Winfrey has also been working with Prince Harry on a production about his mental health. Two years ago, reports swirled that Winfrey also befriended Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, so that she could interview her. However, no such interview was ever released.
DeGeneres, on the other hand, first met Markle at a dog rescue center. Years later, the talk show host revealed that she visited Prince Harry, Markle, and their son, Archie when she and her wife, Portia de Rossi vacationed in London.
The “Ellen Show” host praised the royal couple for being so down-to-earth. And she also came to their defense amid the constant media scrutiny.
