“Ozark” Season 3 is on its way, and the show is already making waves before it has even aired. The Netflix mob drama has also recently started drawing parallels with another phenomenally popular show; “Breaking Bad.” Many fans and critics see the similarities between both the shows themselves and the main characters. Will Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) do a Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and become the bad guy?
As Express notes, “Ozark” Season 3 could very well put Marty down the path to eventually becoming the thing that he is trying to escape. After two seasons of fruitless efforts trying to keep his family safe and eventually escape the Mexican cartel boss who has enslaved him, Marty is going nowhere. Left with no other recourse, the Byrne patriarch might have no choice but to choose the opposite direction and just become the boss, himself.
This is what many fans have been theorizing over at Reddit and many other forums. There have even been YouTube videos discussing the comparison between “Ozark” and “Breaking Bad”; pointing out their similarities. Jason Bateman himself was already approached regarding this topic and has responded with his thoughts on the matter. No word yet on whether “Ozark” Season 3 will see the fruition of this comparison or not.
For the most, both shows are largely similar in two main areas. One is how what appears to be an average, law-abiding person is suddenly entangled with the criminal underworld. The other is how these characters will eventually be forced to do unspeakable things to survive. From the start all through “Ozark” Season 3, Marty has been through the grinder and has gotten tougher, as a result.
As for when “Ozark” Season 3 is expected to air, early 2020 is the safest bet that has been made, so far. The cast and director also want more seasons out of this show, Radio Times reports, and fans can only hope that they get this wish.
