The holiday season may be officially starting next month but one of the highlights in the PlayStation Plus December 2018 free games lineup is a well-known sci-fi horror survival game. Just like the previous months, PS Plus subscribers can have access to six games at no cost.
First, on the PlayStation Plus December 2018 free games list is Frictional Games’ “SOMA.” It was originally released on PS4 in 2015 and popular for its first-person gameplay in the survival horror genre. “SOMA” is also known for its story-driven approach but it received many positive reviews for its unique horror style focused on the psychological aspect of the plot and not the screaming and jumping scares.
Another PS4-exclusive in the PlayStation Plus December 2018 free games lineup is the arcade-style “Onrush” video game that was just released last June. The gameplay is mainly composed of car driving simulation but it is greatly different from the typical racing simulation games. It is mostly known for its vehicular combat mechanics allowing players to compete with crazy car and motorcycle stunts.
Other PlayStation generation consoles will also have access to a couple of PlayStation Plus December 2018 free games. As usual, PS3 players will have two free titles for next month including the space shooter title “Steredenn: Classic.” PS Plus subscribers with PS3 can also access the visual novel, adventure game “SteinsGate” for free. The latter is heavy on the narrative aspect focusing on young scientists experimenting on time traveling.
PS Vita owners with PS Plus memberships will also benefit from the PlayStation Plus December 2018 free games offer. Players will get to assume the role of an immigration officer in the “communist state of Arstotzka” in the adventure game “Papers, Please.” Meanwhile, if that seems like a very dark role, they can play as an aspiring mechanic in the action-adventure title “Iconoclasts.” The latter can also be accessed by PS4 players.
Note that the PlayStation Plus December 2018 free games are only available to players paying a monthly membership fee of $9.99. All the above-mentioned titles can be accessed for free from Dec. 4 to Jan. 1, 2019.
