Since the making of “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” was officially announced, Ubisoft has only been mentioning three gaming systems at which the game would be available — PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, the video game company has discreetly confirmed that it will also be playable on more platforms.
‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake’ compatibility
The new information was first spotted by Reddit user LeadingNewday from an update on the online Ubisoft Store. The “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” page has been added with an option to buy it for Nintendo Switch. There is also a note below the list of compatible platforms that mentions the free upgrades for new-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X.

It should be noted that the “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” has been confirmed to be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X as soon as it is released through backward compatibility. That alone will offer a better experience for players, such as faster load times and better gaming resolution. However, a full upgrade means that the game is practically getting redeveloped for PS5 and Xbox Series X platforms to maximize its next-level features like ray-tracing and 3D audio.
It is unclear why the Nintendo Switch port and the free upgrades on PS5 and Xbox Series X has yet to be officially announced. But considering that the new information was spotted on the official Ubisoft Store listing for “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake,” this expanded lineup of compatible platforms can be considered an official announcement.
‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake’ release date
Unfortunately, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” has joined the slew of games that got delayed this year. Developers announced earlier this month, “We are taking additinal time to work on the game. ... We believe this is the right call to ensure we will deliver a game you will enjoy.”

The title is currently slated to launch on March 18, 2021. But there is no word yet on when to expect the availability of the “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake” PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades.
