Prince Harry nearly suffered a “complete breakdown” following the death of his mother, Princess Diana. The information was recently revealed by royal expert Angela Levin in her new biography, “Harry: Conversations with the Prince," Daily Star reported.
In it, Levin describes that Prince Harry has been hiding his grief for years which has somewhat affected him deeply. It’s been more than 20 years since Princess Diana passed away in an accident that occurred in Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris.
Apart from Princess Diana, two of her other companions perished in the crash. Her premature death was mourned by millions across the world, but Prince Harry didn’t confront his grief outright.
“Instead of dealing with it I buried my head in the sand and let everything around me tear me to pieces,” Prince Harry said, as written in Levin’s biography. Body language experts even attributed the prince’s odd hand gestures to the anxiety that surfaces whenever he’s in a social gathering, although others argue that it is masonic hand sign.
Multiple photographs of Prince Harry have been posted online where he is seen placing his hand over his solar plexus, which experts say indicates he isn’t comfortable in the situation. Perhaps part of this anxiety stems from the fact that he hasn’t completely reconciled with Princess Diana’s death.
Indeed, Levin reveals in the biography that Prince Harry admitted that there’s still a lot of unprocessed grief hiding within him. The author goes on to say that when the prince is having a conversation, this sadness sometimes would rush to the surface, reminding him that he lost Princess Diana on that fateful August day.
Prince William, for his part, has been apparently the support that helped Prince Harry keep it together all these years. Princess Diana’s oldest son even promised his mother that he would return her royal title to her once he inherits the throne someday. Unfortunately, that promise crumbled when the former Princess of Wales perished, leaving the two princes with nothing more than pictures and memories of their beloved mother.
