The release of “Prison Break” season 6 has been confirmed for more than a year now. But, unfortunately, its production does not seem to have seen much progress since then. This then makes fans wonder if there is a chance for the show to return this year.
There have been very few updates about the production of “Prison Break” season 6. Considering that it is the case for the past year, it is understandable if many fans ended up losing hope that the show will ever return on TV. Luckily, cast member Dominic Purcell came to the rescue to confirm that the show is still in the pipeline.
Purcell, who plays one of the show’s main characters named Lincoln Burrows, took to Instagram last month to appease worried fans and confirm that “Prison Break” season 6 is definitely happening. The catch is no one knows yet just when it will premiere.
The actor revealed that the delay of “Prison Break” season 6’s production has apparently become a little collateral damage of the lengthy Fox and Disney merger. The said post was made in early March. And by the end of the same month, both companies have completed all requirements and process to seal the merger deal.
However, the fans have yet to hear from Purcell again whether or not this means the development of “Prison Break” season 6 will be on a roll soon. But what he can promise is that everyone involved in the show is “ready” to make it happen. “Prison break 6 will happen once the intricacies of the merger are done. Writers are ready. The bosses are ready. Wentworth [Miller] and myself are ready,” he wrote.
Even Purcell admitted that the timeframe for producing “Prison Break” season 6 has not been set in stone yet. So it is best for fans not to expect a premiere date in 2019. It is likely that the best case scenario this year is for its filming to finally begin.
