Qatar Airways announced it will further increase flight frequencies and the number of destinations in China if the industry environment and local policies permit.
The carrier said it is gradually resuming its flights globally and China's impressive COVID-19 control measures encouraged it to increase services between the two countries.
Nearly 80 percent of Qatar Airways flights have resumed, faster than many other large-scale carriers, despite the global air travel market still reeling from the COVID-19 impact.
Qatar Airways resumed passenger service from Hangzhou, Zhejiang province to Doha using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, making it the sole e carrier servicing the route.
The return flight from Doha to Hangzhou will only carry cargo. In July, the carrier resumed weekly flights between Doha and Guangzhou, Guangdong province.
The flights from Hangzhou will join services from Guangzhou to Doha, and flights from Hong Kong with connections through Qatar Airways' partners for passengers from Beijing and Shanghai.
