Range Rover's much-anticipated smaller electric SUV has been captured on video for the first time, offering a rare look at the vehicle as it undergoes final testing ahead of its 2026 debut.
Smaller Electric SUV Captured on Video
In preparation for its formal appearance later this year, Range Rover is finishing up testing in severe weather. The Porsche Cayenne and other high-end electric SUVs will be its main competitors.
The smaller electric SUV from Range Rover has been leaked to the public ahead of its official debut.
Footage Reveals First Video Evidence
The footage was shot by CarSpyMedia and shows the electric SUV being lowered from a delivery vehicle. A Range Rover electric vehicle was en route to Jaguar Land Rover's Nurburgring test track.
This is the first video evidence of the smaller electric SUV, which is most likely the Range Rover Velar EV, although it has been seen testing in Scandinavia before. The official launch is scheduled for 2026.
It appears that a public debut at the test track might be imminent, according to the sightings. Stay tuned for further details regarding the highly anticipated Range Rover Electric.
Range Rover Tested in Arctic Conditions
Electrek was the first to report in April about the Range Rover Electric's testing in the Arctic. The pictures showed an electric SUV that was remarkably similar to the ones you would see from the British premium label.
The Range Rover's signature combination of luxury and toughness was unmistakable in the all-black prototypes.
Range Rover's first electric vehicle is still generating a lot of buzz. The Range Rover Electric waiting list surpassed 16,000 in February, according to Jaguar Land Rover.
Over 42,000 Orders Already Placed
More than 42,000 people have placed orders for the first Range Rover electric vehicle, according to current data. Land Rover guarantees that its electric SUV will be an unmatched "true Range Rover" in terms of capability and luxury.
Lennard Hoonik, chief operating officer of JLR, said to MotorTrend last week, “Even if you have your eyes closed, it shouldn’t matter if it’s a V-8 or an EV or an I-6. It must be a true Range Rover.” New internal propulsion and traction control technology will be featured in Range Rover's electric vehicle.
