Developer Rockstar Games recently revealed more gameplay details in a six-minute trailer of “Red Dead Redemption 2.” The teaser is entirely boasting of huge gameplay improvements one can expect from the upcoming title as if it is trying to tell fans the wait for over eight years is worth it.
The trailer released last week shows several clips from the actual “Red Dead Redemption 2” gameplay. It all starts with breaking the main protagonist, Arthur Morgan, out of jail. And from the beginning, Rockstar Games wants to point out that its upcoming title is not just a visually improved open-world game. The developers have added more features and elements, making every detail count and all interactions with characters and the environment feel more real.
A large part of the trailer shows several actions that can be done in a camp. Building camps is an essential part of “Red Dead Redemption 2’s” gameplay. Since players are going to assume the role of Arthur Morgan — a senior member of the Van der Linde gang of outlaws in 1899 — no place can be called a permanent home.
Arthur and his gang will always be on the other side of the law, thus they are always on the run, fleeing town after town. This also gives players the chance to explore many locations that vary from an old Wild West town, through the desert, to a city on its way to a more modern life. This is also the main reason why building the gang's camp is essential in playing “Red Dead Redemption 2.”
While in the camp, “Red Dead Redemption 2” players can also learn more about the background of other players traveling with Arthur. Meanwhile, players will have to attend to other tasks such as hunting to keep the supplies up in the camp.
Rockstar Games has also expanded the ways to interact with other characters and the environment in the “Red Dead Redemption 2” gameplay. For one, players can steer clear of trouble by using more diplomatic dialogues with the local sheriff. As for the weapons, the developers promised players will experience “realistic reloads and recoils,” which makes the gunfights more immersive in “Red Dead Redemption 2.”
Even the use of horses is improved in “Red Dead Redemption 2.” Players will soon have to apply some good strategies in picking their horses — certain breeds are better company in certain tasks. The trailer also hints that players should learn how to properly take care of their horses. As the player gets more familiar with their horse and vice versa, the developers revealed this will make the horses “easier to control” even during a gunfight.
There is still a couple more months before “Red Dead Redemption 2” is released. So Rockstar Games promised to reveal more gameplay details about the missions, enemy gangs, and other activities in trailers as fans wait for the launch of “Red Dead Redemption 2” on Oct. 26 on the PS4 and Xbox One.
