‘Reign’ season 4’s episode 4, titled “Playing With Fire,” will follow Lord Darnley and Mary as they officially meet during a visit to Scotland. It seems that Mary may find more reason to marry Lord Darnley as it was speculated that she may develop romantic feelings for him.
The synopsis for “Playing With Fire” posted on TV Guide reads, “Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) surprises Mary (Adelaide Kane) with a visit to Scotland, which allows her to see more to their union than just a political bond. Meanwhile, Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) attempts to acquire allies; and Catherine (Megan Follows) wants Claude (Rose Williams) to focus on securing a new husband.”
It seems that Mary’s plans to secure the throne by marrying Lord Darnley is beginning to see some progress. According to Christian Post, the two are bound to meet officially for the first time and Mary will find another reason to wed Darnley. Their union was made inevitable by Lady Lennox's (Nola Augustson).
Historically, Lord Darnley was the king consort of Scotland from 1565 until he was murdered at Kirk o’ Field in the year 1567. It seems that Mary is set to develop romantic feelings for Lord Darnley in episode 4 after he surprises her with a visit to Scotland.
Mary will also work together with her brother James (Dan Jeannotte) as they try to stop John Knox’s (Jonathan Goad) plan of turning the Catholics against her.
Meanwhile, her scheming cousin Elizabeth will do everything in her power to acquire new allies in her rivalry with Mary. Catherine, on the other hand, will work on getting Claude back on track in the mission to find a new husband.
