Renault Group reported a solid performance in 2025, with global vehicle sales rising 3.2% year on year to 2,336,807 units, outperforming the global auto market, which expanded by 1.6%. The growth was driven by stronger demand outside Europe and a sharp increase in electric and hybrid vehicle deliveries, according to company data released Tuesday.
All three Renault Group brands posted growth during the year. The core Renault brand sold 1,628,030 vehicles, marking a 3.2% increase from 2024. Budget brand Dacia delivered 697,408 vehicles, up 3.1%, while performance marque Alpine recorded 10,970 registrations, more than doubling its sales and achieving a 139.2% surge compared with the previous year.
In Europe, Renault Group sold 1,607,848 vehicles, ranking among the region’s leading automakers. Passenger car demand was particularly strong, especially in the C segment. Passenger car sales rose 5.9%, well above the overall European market growth of 2.3%, making Renault Group the largest automotive group in France in 2025. Light commercial vehicle sales remained under pressure, but performance improved in the second half, with the decline narrowing to 10.6% from 29.6% in the first half.
Outside Europe, Renault brand sales increased 11.7%, fueled by strong growth in Latin America, South Korea, and Morocco. Sales climbed 11.3% in Latin America, surged 55.9% in South Korea, and rose 44.8% in Morocco. International markets accounted for 38% of Renault brand volumes, up nearly three percentage points from a year earlier.
Electrified vehicles played a key role in Renault Group’s growth. In Europe, the company sold around 400,000 hybrid vehicles, up 35.1%, and approximately 194,000 electric vehicles, a 76.7% increase. Electric vehicles represented 20.2% of Renault’s European passenger car sales, while Dacia’s hybrid sales jumped 121.7% to more than 113,000 units.
France remained Renault Group’s largest market, followed by Italy, Spain, Türkiye, and Germany. Looking ahead, the automaker plans additional internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle launches in 2026 across Europe and international markets, reinforcing its long-term growth strategy.
